Sacred Time
Learning to weep, learning to keep vigil, Learning to wait for the dawn. Perhaps this is what it means to be human.
Henri Nouwen
Marydell Faith and Life Center has long been a refuge for those seeking peace, prayer, reflection, solitude, and a place to commune with the holy and the Divine. Guests will find a warm welcome upon arrival and will leave refreshed in spirit. Several options are available for visitors.
Directed Retreats
Individuals or small groups who desire a directed retreat during their stay at Marydell will be referred to certified spiritual directors. A program is developed to address the needs and desires of the participant(s). These programs can be of varying lengths. Retreat times must be scheduled in advance. Fees depend on length of time and number of participants. No one should deny him/herself a retreat due to lack of funds.
Spiritual Direction
Spiritual Direction helps one integrate his/her spiritual life with daily life through the use of prayer, scripture and other means. Anyone desiring to grow in the spiritual life may come for direction. Generally, sessions are once a week for the first three weeks, shifting then to once a month. Call to schedule the initial appointment. Fee is by donation. No one should deny him/herself spiritual direction due to lack of funds.
The Ignatian Spiritual Exercises
Based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, this program of prayer and daily reflection is designed for people who want to deepen their relationship with Jesus but need to live at home and continue with daily life. The first meeting gives one the opportunity to explore what the retreat entails and thus decide if the commitment is possible. Registration is required. Call Sr. Virginia Johnson for the schedule. 845-358-5399
